Fuel Cap HookAuthor: LazyFox Fuel Cap Hook After reading about pet-peeve about the fuel cap not having a lip to hook it up on to, I've been wondering what could be the easiest solution to this problem. So here it is. Get mid size picture frame hook. Attach it to the plastic wire on the fuel cap so it points up and towards the door as seen on the following picture. 
This is how it works when you hook up the fuel cap when you want to fill up at the gas station.  Hook it up on the inside of the door. You might close them a bit so it reaches, than you can open them all the way again. When you unhook it you close them a bit to make a slack to be able to remove it.
And here it is how it looks before you close the door. It fits without a problem, no obstruction to the door.
